Georgetown – Today, Bruce Poliquin, candidate for Maine Governor, released the campaign’s fundraising results for the reporting period starting July 1 and ending December 31.

Just five months before the primary, Poliquin starts the new year with $304,631 cash on hand, a sizeable sum that will fuel the campaign’s communications, field operations and paid media coverage.

Since entering the race, Poliquin raised $637,128 through 1,033 individual contributions.  In the final reporting period, he totaled $360,189 from 575 contributions with 68% of the amount raised coming from in-state sources.
Additionally demonstrating the strength of the campaign’s fundraising strategy, Poliquin reports raising $47,421 through his website during this reporting period, and finished an overall fundraising blitz by raising more than $57,000 in December.

“Starting the year with more than $300,000 cash on hand puts in a very competitive position,” Poliquin said. “It means we’ll have the resources, tools, and staff to cover a lot of ground and reach out to voters all across the state.”

In the prior reporting period ending June 30th, Poliquin finished far ahead of his primary competitors, raising six times that of his closest opponent.  “I am confident that we will be at the top of the pack in the amount raised among Republican candidates again this reporting period,” continued Poliquin.

“Our focus was to earn each and every contribution,” Poliquin explained. “If you want Mainers to believe you’ll work hard as Governor, you must demonstrate a willingness to work hard to be Governor. There are no shortcuts to the Blaine House.  We’ve traveled over 25,000 miles, attended dozens of events in each county, and contacted hundreds of thousands of voters in a variety of ways.  The response to all our hard work has been overwhelming – better than I ever imagined.”
