Brunswick – Today, Bruce Poliquin, candidate for Governor, announced another successful financial reporting period saying the broad grassroots and financial support will ensure his campaign will be very competitive through the end of the primary.  Tomorrow, Poliquin will report raising more than $228,000 from the first of the year through April 20.  That brings his total raised to more than $865,000 from 1300-plus individual contributions for his campaign.

Poliquin begins the last six weeks of the primary with roughly $150,000 cash on hand, a total that will allow the campaign to maintain solid outreach to voters.  Poliquin also successfully continued using the internet to fund raise by collecting more than $34,000 online during this reporting period.

“I couldn’t be happier with the support our campaign has received,” said Poliquin. “It means we will be very competitive on June 8 and have the resources necessary to reach voters.”

“Mainers want their next Governor to have successful financial experience and competent management skills,” Poliquin added. “The other candidates are only offering more of the same policies and programs that have been tried and failed for decades in Augusta.”

“I believe voters will fundamentally reject that approach.  They want someone who will be ready on day one to address our deep economic, fiscal and job-related problems. Those are exactly the people joining our campaign more and more every day.”
