Brunswick – Today, Bruce Poliquin, candidate for Maine Governor, received the endorsement of Jeff Holden, President of Portland Shellfish, a leading Maine-based seafood processing company.  Founded in 1993, Holden’s company now serves more than 20 countries worldwide.  In a statement, Holden lauded Poliquin’s private sector experience and personal character.

“Bruce Poliquin has the right vision for Maine’s future,” Holden said.  “He is from the private sector.  He has owned and run a number of businesses in Maine and knows how difficult it is to be successful here.  Bruce wants to encourage job growth by addressing the fundamentals of why we have a tough time competing with other states. He understands the issues, focuses on the details, and tells it like he sees it. That’s the kind of honesty we need from our next Governor.”

Holden is the latest in a growing list of business leaders to endorse Bruce, which includes:

Peter Anastos, Maine Course Hospitality Group
Stan Bennett, Oakhurst Dairy
Dana Edwards, Edward’s Family Shop n Save
Peter Maher, Sevee & Maher
John Quirk, VIP Parts, Tires and Service
Chris Pierce, The Dingley Press
